My Story

11 years since her MammoSite treatment.

I had my yearly mammogram on March 27, 2008. To my surprise it came back that I had a developing nodular density in the upper right quadrant of my right breast measuring 1.1 centimeters, which was suspicious for a possible malignancy. An ultrasound followed. Then came an ultrasound guided core biopsy. I had a right breast lumpectomy on April 22, 2008. The pathology report came back that I had Stage 1 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. The margins were negative and the lymph nodes were clear. My surgeon stated that I was a good candidate for MammoSite therapy. I felt that I was blessed to have fewer treatments.
