My Story
Equine Physical Therapist
Benton, LA
5 years, 3 months since her MammoSite treatment.
Cancer, a very scary word in anybody’s mind and heart. After losing my husband to cancer in 2004, receiving the words breast cancer was the worst news in my vocabulary. After neglecting myself and not having a mammogram for 4 years, that was what I was told after having two mammograms and a biopsy. I had a lumpectomy and then my doctors suggested radiation. I was introduced to the MammoSite procedure at Wills Knighton Cancer Center in Shreveport. Only 10 treatments for 5 days. It was painless and the staff was so supportive and encouraging. I had no immediate family to be with me. Now 4 months later I got a good report from my surgeon and have a mammogram in another month.
I am an Equine Physical Therapist/Veterinary Assistant and have been for 21 years. My job is very physical and very rewarding. I have been back to work after two months of rest and recovery. My mom is 90 and in the hospital so I need to be strong for her and me. If I can help anyone by what I have experienced, I will be very happy to. God is in charge of my life so I do trust him and know whatever happens it is for my own good.
Sincerely,
La Nora
