My Story

Joanna | age 81
Retired School Bus Driver
Howard, PA
10 years, 8 months since her MammoSite treatment.

I had a friend who instructed me to have yearly breast exams. I never wanted it done because of my breast size (it hurt very much.) Shortly after my friend convinced me to have the mammogram, she found out she had cancer. She fought a brave battle but she died after about a year. Her husband died of bone cancer a year before her. My husband was being treated at the same time hers was in New York. That was back in 1993. I have faithfully had mammograms since and was told I had cancer in 2003. Because it was found early (stage 1) I was a candidate for MammoSite therapy. I had great faith in my Lord and my doctor. If a person has to come down with cancer this is the way to go. The only problem I had was not having anyone to share anything about the treatment. I am willing to help other ladies. Thanks for allowing me to share. God bless.
