I was diagnosed on January 8th, 2008 and my surgeon immediately told me about a relatively new procedure that he was going to do as part of my treatment. He was very informative about MammoSite, and assured me of the success rate of the treatment. From that point forward, every step of the treatment went exactly as he had described, and the placement of the balloon went forward with no problems. The fact that I could have my complete radiation treatment in five days versus seven weeks was so encouraging to me, and went a far way to help my state of mind while I was processing the fact that I did have breast cancer. The fact that I can go back to my normal daily activities and work with no side effects is just so wonderful.
